If you’re using a smartphone, tablet or laptop, you probably use the internet frequently, and you probably want to be able to test how well it’s working.
But how can you know for sure?
It’s easy to just type in a few phrases and get a simple report.
But there are more tests you can perform to check how your internet is working.
You can also use the Spectrum Internet Test app, which lets you test your connection in a variety of ways.
Here’s how you can test your network’s performance.
First, open the app.
Tap the test button.
You can test for latency, upload speed, latency, connection speed, bandwidth and more.
You may need to wait a few seconds to test all of these.
Then, tap the report button.
The Spectrum Internet test app lets you view and save all of your results.
You’ll find these tests grouped into three sections.
There’s an overview section, which shows you how your connection is performing at various times.
You’ll also see a summary section.
You’re free to view and share all of the results, including whether you got any bad spikes.
Next, click the test results button.
In the summary section, you’ll see a list of tests you’ve performed.
You should see your overall network speed and latency, or, if you have high latency, the maximum speed you can get on your mobile device.
In other words, the more tests your internet test has done, the better your internet speed is.
If you can’t get an overview of your internet’s performance, you can view it from the report window.
Here, you see the total data received, the total amount of data transmitted and the total bytes sent or received.
The speed is displayed as a percentage of your upload speed.
If your internet performance is slow, you may see spikes in the speed bar.
The bar is then hidden until you tap it again.
