A few years ago, I worked at a big tech company where we were looking for a new HR consultant.
I was a bit nervous, but I thought, “Man, if I’m going to do this I’m gonna have to be able to get an appointment with a client”.
I booked my first appointment with an HR consultant, and when I got home I called her.
It turned out that the HR consultant was on a conference call and had not booked my next appointment yet.
She was really excited and said, “You’ve booked your next appointment now!
I can start the process.”
So, I called the HR firm and they had booked my meeting with my new HR partner, but my team was not happy with my decision.
We were not satisfied with the quality of my appointment.
So, we went back and spoke with our HR consultant and said we were going to cancel our conference call.
We didn’t like the way she was talking to us and we were not happy about it.
We also decided to cancel all the conference calls and emails and everything else.
But we were still on our way to our meeting.
So when I saw that the company was offering free conference calls to new team members, I was really nervous.
But, I didn’t have to worry about any of that anymore.
We’re happy to say that our new HR director is now a paid customer.
And that’s not because we didn’t take the time to learn her business skills or her passion for HR, it’s because we took the time and care to learn and develop her skills and her passion.
